Traditionally iron oxide
manufacture has been an environmentally unfriendly industry, but
expansion of the cities and new government regulations have resulted in
many older plants being closed and/or re-sited. Water is one
of the principal ingredients of the manufacturing process, and its
recovery and purification is now a major part of the system.
Below is an example of the recent addition
of a more efficient type of water purification plant. These
can produce excellent results, and certainly water which is returned
from the process is cleaner than that in the canals from whence it
is drawn.
